Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs. Symptoms include breathing difficulty, cough, mucus (sputum) production and wheezing. It’s typically caused by long-term exposure to irritating gases or particulate matter, most often from cigarette smoke. People with COPD are at increased risk of developing heart disease, lung cancer and a variety of other conditions. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the two most common conditions that contribute to COPD. These two conditions usually occur together and can vary in severity among individuals with COPD.

Symptoms: Shortness of breath with difficulty breathing, wheezing, a rattling cough with excessive mucus production. The patient feels weak and may have a bluish tinge to the lips and face.
Better with warmth and rest, aggravated by cold or exertion. The patient may feel weak and anxious about their health.
Symptoms: Shortness of breath, especially at night or after exertion, with a feeling of suffocation. The person may feel restless and anxious, often requiring a lot of warmth and feeling worse in cold air.

Symptoms: Difficulty breathing, especially during exertion. A feeling of suffocation with gasping for air, and a need for fresh air. Cough is often worse at night.
Helpful for asthmatic conditions with wheezing, especially when accompanied by a sense of suffocation. May also be indicated in cases of respiratory spasms or tightness.

Chronic respiratory conditions with persistent cough and difficulty clearing mucus. It is often used when the mucus is dense, difficult to expectorate, and the person feels exhausted.

Better with open air and worse in damp or humid conditions. Can be useful for patients who have chronic lung diseases with periodic flare-ups.
Symptoms: Cough with thick, yellow or greenish expectoration, often worse in the morning. Shortness of breath and wheezing, with a feeling of pressure on the chest.
Often used for respiratory conditions with difficulty inhaling or exhaling, especially when there is a dry, spasmodic cough and congestion.
Symptoms: Acute or chronic difficulty breathing, especially in children or people who experience spasms of the lungs. Tightness in the chest with a sensation of suffocation.
Chronic respiratory issues in individuals who are physically or emotionally weak, with a tendency to feel chilly and frail.
Symptoms: Weakness and shortness of breath, especially in older individuals. The person may feel exhausted with any physical exertion and experience difficulty breathing, often with a chronic cough.
Often used in cases where there is chronic respiratory distress with a sensitivity to cold air and a need for fresh air. It also addresses anxiety and fear of death, which may be common in COPD patients.
