Agalactia in nursing mothers is the absence of milk production in an animal that should be producing milk. The two most common causes of this condition in domesticated small ruminants are systemic disease and mastitis. Cervid lactogenesis is especially sensitive to environmental and nutritional cues. In animals with severe systemic disease and decreased feed intake, milk production will drop dramatically and, in some cases, will cease altogether.
Often used when milk production is insufficient due to weakness, exhaustion, or after a difficult pregnancy or delivery. It is especially helpful for mothers who are physically frail and exhausted.
Symptoms: Lack of milk with physical weakness and fatigue, especially after childbirth.

Typically used after trauma to the breast or chest area, such as after a difficult delivery or breast injury, to promote healing and stimulate milk production.
