Overview
Chikungunya fever is a viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes, mainly Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus with sudden onset of high fever, symptoms of severe joint pain, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, ulcers and ulcers. The name “chikungunya” is derived from a word in the Kimakonde language, which means “to destroy the skin,” referring to the prostration of those affected by joint pain.
